A Random Update – Nov 18th
Well, I think I need to post updates more often. I’m just not doing well with staying on track from week to week. So, I’ll start with today.
As usual, I made better choices this morning. Got up feeling stiff again – the weather change and the fact I didn’t stretch before bed last night had me creaking a bit. Decided to go ahead and move instead of giving in.
Stretched with my exercise ball
Then that wasn’t quite enough, so I decided to do just the warm-up portion of the Get up and Get Started walk on my Leslie Sansone Walk Away the Pounds dvd. That helped.
Food wise, it’s going okay. But right now I am craving one of those fudge bars that my hubby has in the freezer. Ugh.
My 10 yo son made me one of his yummy smoothies today – with added yogurt, oatmeal, flax seed, and, a new one – granola. For fruit, it had blueberries and orange juice. A different combination than normal, but it was good – and gave me a boost for the morning.
Lunch was a turkey burger on an Orowheat Wheat bun (I love those things – high fiber and yummy!)
Snack was a few of the kids’ roasted potatoes and a full tray of roasted sweet potatoes fries. But for some reason I’m still hungry.
My 5 yo has book club tonight – we’re reading Pinkilicious, about a girl who craves too many pink cupcakes and turns pink. The only way to turn back is to eat dark green veggies. I’m relating really well to that right about now. Craving sweets but needing veggies. Go figure.
Well, here’s to better choices.

I have been craving veggies a lot lately. AND I have been looking at trying out a vegetarian lifestyle and possibly throwing in vegan too. I am doing some research to pull together a blog post about it all sometime.
That smoothie sounds good. I have smoothies a few mornings a week but don’t care for fruit ones as much as I do peanut butter/banana smoothies and green monster smoothies.
And good for you for doing the Leslie Sansone workouts. I absolutely love her workouts. Lost 70 + pounds doing her workouts.
Have a great week!
P.S. If you are celebrating Thanksgiving, what about a challenge that we really focus on the amount we eat by choosing healthier options and smaller portions? I’m going to try my best!

Angie,
(think cheese pizza). But veggies…yummy. I always lose weight when I return to eating lots of stir-fried or steamed veggies and whole grains. I look forward to reading your thoughts on your blog about what you’ve found and how it ends up working for you.
I highly recommend trying out vegetarian/vegan or semi-vegetarian lifestyle. I was completely vegetarian for 6 or 7 years and still only eat small amounts of lean poultry (no other meat). The key thing to remember is that just because it’s vegetarian doesn’t mean it’s healthy
Green Monster Smoothies – I keep wanting to try those, but for now we’re doing fruit and yogurt smoothies with lots of nutritious additives (oats, flax seed, etc). I always feel better when I have them and my son LOVES experimenting with them.
Oh… a Thanksgiving Challenge. I’ve never done a challenge before. I’d like to try it. So…focus on healthier options and smaller portions? I can do that… Thanks for bringing it up!
Have a Great Week too!!
…Shannon
