Losing 100+ pounds – Weekly Update – Week 11
Another week down, and I’m behind in posting my updates for you all. Work, illness, …you know the usual excuses. But I am NOT giving up. Failure is not an option.
Tuesday’s official weigh-in wasn’t what I wanted; the scale didn’t move. BUT the scale didn’t move.
I missed a couple workouts this week, and have been really focused on evaluating how to overcome this set-back, some of which I hope to share with you all soon as I get caught up.
But let’s just say, I’m back on track with exercise, and I’ve started a new meal plan.
The last few weeks may not have been productive from a pounds lost perspective, but from a resolve and mind-set perspective, I’ve made more progress.
I’m keeping my goals in front of me, and making the changes needed to get it done.
I want to say a special thanks to Angie, Tishia, and Biz for their comments and encouragement. I got them on days where I really wasn’t feeling well and I was beating myself up a bit about not being on track and being behind. I can’t tell you how much your encouragement uplifted my spirits. Thank you!

Losing 100+ pounds – Weekly Update – Week 10
Frustrated.
That’s the only word I can possibly describe how I felt this morning when I did my “official” weekly weigh-in. Gained 2 pounds.
What!
Yep, scale is totally moving in the wrong direction. I wasn’t pleased.
So I found my measuring tape and decide to take measurements again. The last time I did this was nearly 7 weeks ago on November 25th.
YEAH! I do have good news to report. So while my scale (and weight) is rebelling, I am still SHRINKING!
Here are the numbers:
Bust: - 1/2 inch
Under Bra: - 1 inch
Natural waist: - 3 1/2 inches!!
Navel: – 3/4 inches
Hips: - 1/2 inch
So I shrunk in all of my areas I had taken measurements for. And 3 1/2 inches off the waist – wow. No wonder I’m still feeling like I’m shrinking despite that awful scale number.
But that does need to be dealt with. I did eat horribly when we were out this week. I need to get a grip on the drive-through selections. And while I did have more fruit in the house this week (and ate quite a bit), I’m still not buying enough to serve all 6 of us 4-5 peices a day each and every day. It just runs out way too quickly. So something else to work on.
Also…I’m wondering if I need to get my adrenols checked out. Something’s not right, and I’ve already got the thyroid moderated through medication. I’m not big on medication, but I’d at least like to know if something else hormone wise is messed up that I need to deal with.
So, that’s my week. I hope your scale was more cooperative than mine was and that you took the opportunity to shrink this week as well!
Enjoy your week!
…Shannon

Losing 100+ pounds – Weekly Update – Week 9
A few days ago I thought I would have better news to report this week. I’ve been exercising and watching my food decisions, and a day or two ago the scale was moving downward.
But today when I got on for the official Tuesday update, the scale just didn’t cooperate. I’m back up 2 pounds… so back to a total loss of 5 pounds.
I have to admit – I’m not liking that number. I don’t like this yo-yo weight thing. I feel slimmer, I feel better this last week. The Fat Loss Quickie approach of doing smaller doses of interval training throughout the day is helping my overall mindset.
Also a positive this week, is that I found a pair of jeans in the back of my closet that I had tucked away because I couldn’t get them on. And guess what – I can get them on! (just don’t ask me to sit down in them
)
So, that’s cool that I have a visual, physical measurement of success – something I can try on and see how much better it is fitting. Definitely motivating.
I’d love for those jeans to be fitting comfortably enough for me to wear them while travelling to and from the conference in April. So, now not only do I have a weight goal, but also a clothing goal – and for me that is a good thing. New clothes to wear motivates me

Losing 100+ pounds – Weekly Update – Week 8
WooHoo! The choices I made this last week made a difference! I’m back down 3 pounds, so back to a total loss of 7 pounds – in 8 weeks. I’m pleased about that.
I wasn’t really expecting to lose anything this week, especially since there was a lot of little snacks of cookies, candy, and other treats in the food log over the last week, AND I’ve really not been exercising as much as I would prefer. But apparently the little choices, being conscious of the decisions I was making, and the planning ahead made a difference.
Yesterday, I spent a few hours re-reading the first half of the Fat Loss Quickie Motivation Report to get re-psyched for the next month. There’s only 52 weeks left to make my goal, and I don’t want to flounder more like I did this past month.
If you haven’t read the Fat Loss Quickie Motivation Report, I recommend doing so. It’s free and isn’t a sales pitch. Just Scott Tousignant’s tips and advice on how to identify what’s holding you back, how to blast past those excuses, and how to lose the fat and get trim and fit.
I’ll be going through the entire report (it’s 125 pages) the rest of this week to work on my mind-set. I’m still feeling off this week, and really feel I need that extra kick from Scott’s report to jostle me out of this funk and move on.
There’s 52 weeks ahead of me, plenty of time to make a consistent effort to be healthy and fit …and of course lose 100 pounds. But I want to do it so that it’s a lifestyle change – not something I do for a short time, but something I can maintain.
Anyway, I hope you have a great week. And if you will, feel free to give me a virtual “kick” to help me lose this funky, sad, lethargic mood and get a move on!

Losing 100+ pounds – Weekly Update – Week 7
Well. Think I just need to start this whole month over. I forgot to get on the scale this morning and didn’t remember until I ate all that rice, so the offical scale number is a GAIN of 1 pound
. So net total loss is now 4 pounds in 7 weeks. (Ugh!!)
So I started this thing out strong the first 5 weeks, and these last two weeks have not been good scale wise. This is defintely something I have to get a handle on. And need to get back on track.
I can’t believe how much of a funk I’ve been in. Got to pull myself out and get going again. New week, new start, new goal.
So the goal for week 8 will be to continue to keep track with the Healthy Choices Christmas Challenge and to exercise for at least 30 minutes every day.
